Professor of Theoretical Mathematics
My research interests are mainly in noncommutative topology; more specifically in the structure and classification of nuclear
C*-algebras and in the interplay with dynamical systems.
I also have an interest in connections to coarse geometry and
to logic.
I currently supervise 4 PhD students, Rafaela Gesing and Grigoris Kopsacheilis, Lukas Obermeyer (jointly with Kristin Courtney), and Philipp Sibbel..
Karen Strung has defended her thesis in 2014, Gábor Szabó has defended his in 2015, and Miroslava Johanesová has defended hers in 2016. Jacopo Bassi (in cotutela with Ludwik Dabrowski at SISSA) has defended his thesis in 2018. André Schemaitat has defended in 2020.
Shirly Geffen (joint supervision with Ilan Hirshberg at BGU Be’er Sheva) has defended in 2021.
Well done everybody!
I am the speaker of the Mathematics Münster Graduate School MMGS.
